Product Comparisons

Two products, the same criteria, side by side. Disclosed ingredients, material composition, certifications that mean something, and price. No winner declared unless the evidence supports one.

How comparisons are built

Each comparison sets its criteria before looking at the products, not after. That ordering matters — criteria chosen once you already know the answer are not criteria, they are justification.

  • Same questions to both. If we ask what one brand discloses, we ask the other the same thing.
  • Material first. What the product is made of, before what it claims.
  • Certifications weighed, not counted. Some require testing. Some require a cheque. We say which.
  • Real cost. Including replacement filters, refills and cartridges, which often exceed the purchase price.
  • No forced winner. Where two products differ mainly on preference, that is the finding.

When a comparison is the right page

A head-to-head is useful when you have already narrowed to two options and want them measured against each other. If you are still choosing a category, the product guides cover the field. If you want one company examined in depth, that is a brand audit.

And where the deciding factor turns out to be a single compound — which coating, which preservative, which fibre treatment — the Free From pages carry the chemistry that the comparison only summarises.

Comparisons use published specifications and third-party classifications. We have not tested these products. Read our methodology.
